My name is Lisa Silk
My Journey to Integrative Veterinary Care
I grew up on a farm, where my love for animals blossomed from an early age. Working through school I funded my veterinary education, which taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and a deep appreciation for hard work. After earning my DVM, I set out to broaden my horizons, practicing veterinary medicine across the United States and around the globe.
I worked at an equine hospital in Oklahoma, and then owned a house call business in Colorado and during my spare time in Colorado I was on a Snowboard Racing Team.
International Impact & Continued Learning
Once in Guam, I owned one of the busiest veterinary hospitals in the region, where I was the only Veterinarian on staff.
On the Island I witnessed things no one ever should have to see regarding animal abuse and neglect. I felt inspired to turn that pain into purpose, so I decided for that time in my life my mission would be to educate and inspire the people of the island how to care for the animals.

I organized a spay and neuter clinic, which was successful in decreasing the stray population.

I had a weekly TV show and wrote monthly articles for the local newspaper.
Also while in Guam, I expanded my expertise by becoming certified in herbal medicine and veterinary acupuncture.
Returning Home to Idaho
Last year, I returned to Idaho to help care for my mother, and found an opportunity to bring my global experience back to my local community. Today I split my time between relief work at area clinics and running my own House-Call Practice.

As an integrative functional medicine practitioner, I combine the best of Western Veterinary Medicine with acupuncture and herbal supplementation.

When the time comes we understand how devastating it is to lose our four-legged family members, and that it is an extremely hard experience that can leave you feeling lost, we want you to feel like you've got people that help you find the grieving and bereavement services that can help you through processing your loss if needed.
